Post by Professor Trelawney on Aug 25, 2005 13:48:50 GMT 9
Sybill Trelawney collapsed into her squishy armchair and inhaled the thick heavy air, which was rich with pungent incense. She draped her many shawls, scarfs and wraps over her chair and pushed her glasses further down her nose. She wanted to make a dramatic effect for the first Divination lesson of the year. She leaned over to the small coffee table on her right and picked up her wand, with a quick wave all the windows were closed. Another wave saw the fireplace burning merrily and with one final downward movement the candles in the room all ignited; the effect in the room was quite dramatic. That was how Sybill liked it.
As the Professor heard the sound of the bell clanging in the tower next to hers she smiled to herself. A new class. Some fresh faces ... of course half of them would leave by the end of their third year ... but what did that matter? At least she could keep the good ones; the dedicated ones. And if she discovered someone with the Inner Eye! Oh that would be so wonderful for her ... the student too, of course. Sybill's train of thought was disturbed as somebody entered her tower classroom.

Lily walked into the Divination classroom thinking silently to herself. She stepped into the tower room which smelt strongly of incense. Moving to the back of the room she placed her bag down and sat in one of the chairs.
"Hello Professor Trelawney" she said politely as she sat down. Why didn't I give it up? she thought to herself. It was true Divination wasn't her favourite subject but she was able to relax a little more in this class. She doubted whether any of the predictions she had made in the past were true, she couldn't remember them, but at least she would have a few friends who were in the same class. That was a bonus. She sighed as she heard the sound of another student entering the classroom. She looked over to see who it was.

Brett dragged himself into Divination. He did not like this class he thought it was a complete waste of time, but it was always interesting. As he entered he saw Lily was the only student in the room. He smiled and walked over to her. "Hey, whats up?" he said taking a seat next to her.

Walking into the room August was a little winded. Walking up those steps to the tower room could make you tired. Looking around she noticed Brett and Lily. Wlaking over to them she sat in a near by chair. "Morning Professor,"She said finally realizing the smell of the incense. "Morning guys,"August said facing them.

Lily heard the sound of another student entering the tower room. She looked around and noticed that it was August who had entered the classroom. She sat down in a nearby chair and spoke to them "Hi" Lily said cheerily "At least i'm not the only one who continued" she said plainly "never did figure out why I did but I suppose that i never will" she wasn't really talking to anyone. more to herself as her thought ran off she just said what came to mind.

Post by Harry Potter on Aug 29, 2005 1:37:28 GMT 9
Ever since the morning, Harry had been horribly out of luck. He had woken up late, only to find himself covered in several pieces of spell-o-tape (compliments of the other boys in his dorm). Some even had obscenities, and Harry bet he could thank Seamus for it. After a painful, five minute process of removing them all, Harry had started down the steps. Breakfast had been equally a mess. The wonderful cup of hot chocolate he was supposed to enjoy was spilled all over his lap, making Harry lash out with curses.
He had had to shove the rest of his food down his mouth, race up to the common room, sort through his trunk until he found what he supposed were clean clothes, and end up late for his first class anyway. By divination, things had gotten absolutely ridiculous. He had toppled over an antique vase in one of the corridors, and just to his luck a prefect had been walking not far back. The single shred of luck in his day was provided by not missing the sharp, easily-passed turn into the divination tower. Most unlucky souls would walk straight past it and lose themselves in a labyrinth of similar corridors.
Now he made his way up the spiral steps, his messenger bag slung lazily over his shoulder. There was a terrible, frustrating RIP. Harry stopped dead, his expression dropping from a frustrated one to an angry one, and he turned on his heel. Apologizing to the people coming up behind him, he would bend down to pick up his books. Unfortunately, one of his books had toppled all the way down to the bottom. Someone like Hermione might have looked at it more optimistically.
"Oh, more exercise" they might say. But Harry wanted nothing more to do with his straying book. Fighting his urges to leave it, he made his way back down and snatched it up. Finally, he reached the small entrance to the classroom itself, his nostrils flooded with the strong fragrances. Wishing someone would open a window, Harry made his way to the unoccupied table closest to the door. Instead of greeting anyone else like he normally would, Harry nestled his head in his arms and waited for class to begin.

Draco dragged himself out of bed and glanced at the silver pockethingych of his bedside table. It was seven am. No wander he was tired. Of course he couldn't sleep anymore; Goyle had taken care of that, his snores reverberating off the heavy stone walls. Draco grabbed his clothes in a bundle under his arm and threw a robe over his otherwise underwear clab body. He made his way through the slytherin common-room and through the dungeons. Several flights of stairs later he was in the prefects bathroom where he stripped off and closed his eyes under the hot water.
A shower always made Draco feel more refreshed and he would need to be as refreshed at possible to live through the double divination he had first today. He climbed out of the shower, dressed and was about to go up the next several floors to the divination tower when he realised his bag was down in the dungeons, "Accio schoolbag." Draco muttered, his rowan wand clasped tight in his hand. About one minute later his bag zoomed around a nearby corner and he cought it with one hand. Now he was ready for Divination. Then ... was anyone ever ready for a double Divination with Trelawney?
A few minutels later Draco was climbing the silver ladder leading to Trelawney's tower room, panting slightly from his swift ascent from the bathroom. As his head poked through the hole in the floor Draco frowned. No slytherins. Just a bunch of Gryffindors and a Raven. And what was worse? "Potter." Draco spat as he noticed his long-time adversary sitting right in front of where he stood. Draco walked passed Harry, not forgetting to slap Harry in the back of the head before flashing a wide grin at Professor Trelawny, "crazy old bat." he muttered, taking a seat by the window.

Lily was talking to her friends when Harry and Draco entered the tower room. She thought it strange that Harry hadn't greeted anyone but didn't bother saying anything.
She put her feet up on the chair infront of her and pulled a piece of parchment out of her bag and began drawing on it. Every now and then she glanced towards the door to see who had entered the room.

Tyger cursed as she climbed the many stairs to the tower room. She wasn't a fan of Divination but her father had insisted that she take the class.
She entered the room and looked around coughing at the smell of the incense and the fumes from the purfumed fire. She noticed that there wasn't many students there. She noticed her cousin, Lily sitting with her friends and Harry Potter "Show offs" she muttered. She noticed that there was only one other Slytherin in the room, Draco Malfoy, a prefect. She moved over to his side of the room sitting in the row behind him so that Lily couldn't misinterpret anything that she did "Hello" she muttered politely still looking around the room.

Brett saw Lily pull out her parchment and start drawing. "I'm gonna go see what's wrong with Harry," he said to Lily. He walked over to Harry and stood next to his seat. "Rough day?" he asked Harry noticing that he seemed to be less cheerful than usual.

Rose was delighted to see that she wasn't late. Not because Prof Trelawney would take points, but because she knew she would become absorbed in a fierce frenzy on how she had always known she'd be late, and how her life was so predictable. Predictable? Yeah, as if she knew anything. Rose felt a bit flustered this morning, having fallen right back to sleep when she first woke up. She had had a bad night, her head full of spinning dreams. She entered the divination class. The incense did not help her sleepy eyes. She brighteneed a little when she spotted Draco near the back. Rose waved at Lily and Brett as she passed to sit next to him. "Hi," she said lazily as she sat. She put her head on her hands with her elbows on the small table, her eyelids drooping slightly. "H-how are yo-you?" she said thickly through a yawn.

Draco smiled as Tyger walked past him to the desk behind, "Hi." he replied, glancing over at the trapdoor again. Rose was emerging from it. Draco smiled broadly as she approached his table and sat next to him, but he was a little dissapointed as he muttered, "Hi." Lazily. Didn't she like him anymore? He wasn't sure so he refrained from kissing her on the cheek as he had planned. Instead he Pulled his Divination textbook Out of his bag and placed it on the desk in front of him, wandering if Rose was sick of him.

Draco didn't reply. She took her head out of her hands as she watched him get his books out, without speaking. "What's wrong?" she asked, a little anxiety in her voice. She hoped he didn't think she was becoming distant from him. She was just tired. Absorbed with sleep. She could fall asleep right now, if her initative would allow. But no, she had to stay awake, at least through lessons. Her hair was messy today, with bits of frizz sticking up in places and her tender waves were losing their strength. Her face was losing colour. Maybe that was why he was so distant. "Sorry I look like this," she said hastily, hoping that he wasn't so shallow. "It's just, I haven't been sleeping well." Rose put her hand on his, hoping he wouldn't pull away or anything. She was so disappointed in herself right now. She shook her head, as though to shake off the droopy feeling she was experiencing, and forced a weak smile.

Post by Holly Willow on Aug 31, 2005 18:20:08 GMT 9
Holly trudged down the corridor, looking like a prisoner on their way back to Azkaban after a so close escape attempt. Actually she was on her way to Divination, which to her, was the same thing anyway.
She couldn't believe that a bad morning she was having, especially because Holly had marked this day as the day she would be turning over a new leaf and made sure that she actually did her homework and payed more attention in class. But everything went wrong.
Curse No.1: The alarm clock. Someone had suddenly realised how funny it would be to turn Holly Willow's clock back an hour. Ha ha. She hoped they'd found it funny, because she most certainly hadn't.
Curse No.2: Potions homework. Bagira had eaten her potions homework. No kidding. She couldn't believe the stupidity and impossiblity of the whoel situation when she woke up to find her potions homework missing and then found it's chewed up remains in her cat's litter box. It wasn't fair. As if Professor Snape would believe her, when she told him the truth that 'Her cat had eaten her homework!' SHE wouldn't have believe herself!
Curse No.3: No breakfast. Thanks to the practical joker, she had turned up an hour late for breakfast and found to her horror that there was nothing left to eat. The only things left, were the remains on people's plates and even she wasn't that desperate.
And finally Curse No.4: Peeves. Holly had sworn an oath to herself that if she ever saw that poltergeist again, she would grab the nearest pick axe and personally kill him...again. If that was possible, which it wasn't, so she decided that when the next oppurtunity came, she would set off some dung bombs on the third floor and make sure that Filch believed Peeves was the culprit.
Holly suddenly realised that she'd reached the step ladder. Sighing heavily, she placed a hand on the top rung and lifted herself up through the trap door. She picked up her bag and got to her feet, dusting her robes off anxiously. Thank the lords, she wasn't late. The only people to arrive were Lily, Brett and Harry Potter. She sat down in the seat next to Lily's and began unpacking her books. Hushed voices whispered from behind her and looking over her shoulder, Holly noticed Tyger Evans and Draco Malfoy lurking in the shadows...as usual. She merely glared at them, before smiling at Lily.
"Hey Lils!" Holly greeted and leaned back in her chair to greet Brett too, smiling at him too.
