Gabrielle looked up from her already finished potion and smiled as Blaise sat next to her. "Hey Blaise." She greeted him. "We're doing a Pepper-Up Potion." Gabby explained. "If you'd read the board, you'd know that." Her usually hard eyes twinkled as she smiled slightly at him. She watched with amusement as Blaise's head and upper torso disappeared into his apparently bottomless dragonhide bag. He pulled out his head, and Gabrielle stifled laughter at the extremely odd look on his face. He looked rather like a drunk hippogriff that had been smoking drugs with a grindylow, what with his tongue fastened between his teeth and his eyes rolled up like that. Gabby dipped a vial into her potion and cautiously filled it to the brim, then stoppered the jar and placed it on the desk between her and Blaise. "You're not going to have time to make your own potion, so you can have this one, if you like." She offered, pulling another vial from her bag, which she also filled with the grey smoky liquid. Gabrielle turned back to Blaise, looking on as he pulled out various items from his bag, including his broom, chocolate and his Transfiguration textbook, before he finally pulled out a piece of parchment that looked like it should have been thrown out months ago and a quill that obviously needed replacing. "Gabby, mind if I borrow your ink?" Blaise murmured, his voice muffled as he stuck his head back into the bag. Gabrielle couldn't help but laugh at him now, with his hair sticking up at odd angles from the bag. "Sure, you can borrow my ink." She replied between giggles. She scrunched up the parchment and threw both it and the rather distasteful-looking quill into the bin. "And I insist that you use my parchment and quill too." She pushed two sheets of fresh parchment to him and slid her inkwell, with her quill resting in it, across the desk to him. Gabby turned away from him and raised her voice for the Professor to hear. "Sir? Sir, Blaise and I have finished our potions!" She attached a label to each of the two vials of potion, one reading: Gabrielle Woods, and the other reading: Blaise Zabini. A loud BOOM! echoed throughout the room, and Gabrielle turned her attention to where Harry Potter had made some explosive error in his potion. She snickered slightly at the expression on his face, then turned back to see what the Professor would say. Before he could, a girl ran into the room. Gabrielle recognized her as Tyger Evans, another Slytherin. Gabby smirked inwardly at the thought that another Slytherin had entered the class late, with likely no or little reprimand. Tyger was followed a few minutes later by a girl wearing the Hufflepuff emblem, and Gabby smirked again. Looked like Hufflepuff would lose points too. Gabby leaned back on her chair, resting her elbows on the table behind her, and overheard a nearby conversation about mudbloods and filth. She turned to the people who were talking and was shocked to see a Slytherin sticking up for a mudblood Gryffindor. "What kind of Slytherin are you?!" She demanded, absolutely horrified. "We do not associate with their type!" She stressed, throwing Lily a dirty look. She turned her gaze back to Rose, looking at her in disgust. "I can't believe you." She shook her head, and turned back to the front, ignoring Rose pointedly, and tuning out the rest of their conversation. To her shock, another student arrived late. There was no way that there was more than ten minutes left to the lesson, and a Ravenclaw, a Ravenclaw of all people, was only just coming in. She waited for the explosion likely to come as a result of this. Not long afterward, another Slytherin came in. Gabrielle was shocked. Why were so many students so late to class? She shook her head. If they were going to be this late, they may as well not even show up. She turned back to Blaise. "What class do we have next?"

Blaise flashed a grin at his laughing friend, then proceeded to stuff all his stuff back into his bag, with the exception of the piece of decrepit parchment and rather pathetic looking quill. He ruffled his hair with his hand, then shook his head, settling the hair reasonably well. "You're not going to have time to make your own potion, so you can have this one, if you like." Gabby offered him a vial filled with her potion, already turning to fill another one. "Thanks," he smiled at her. "I'll try to be on time next lesson, so that I can help." He bit his lip, not sure how much help he'd be. He wasn't too bad at brewing potions, but Gabrielle was at least ten times better than him, and wouldn't need help for anything except chopping up things that left a foul smell on your hands for hours afterwards - and then not because she couldn't do it, but because she didn't want to. He gaped as Gabby threw out his parchment and quill. "Hey! It took me ages to find those! Now what am I going to use?" He demanded, staring despairingly at the self-disposing rubbish bin, where a small flame had already consumed his belongings. Gabrielle pushed him two sheets of parchment and the quill she had been using, which still sat in her ink bottle. "And I insist that you use my parchment and quill too." She informed him. He stared at the parchment, which had 'Gabrielle's Stationery' printed on the top, then shifted his gaze to the quill and ink bottle, staring incredulously, before turning his shocked brown eyes to meet Gabby's laughing green ones. "Well, seeing as how it's a very difficult choice..." He muttered, taking the quill from the inkwell and beginning to scratch out the instructions on the board. Buried deep within his own thoughts, Blaise tuned out all sounds in the room. He analysed the relationship between Gabby and himself. Somethings she did made him think that maybe she liked him, but other things just confused him. He snuck a glance at her. She was writing labels on two slips of parchment, her short dark brown hair falling around her face. He could see that the labels read his name and hers. He returned his gaze to the parchment before him before she could see him looking. Half the time she seemed please to see him, but the rest of the time, she seemed to be eager to be as far away from him as possible. Blaise shook his head. Girls were confusing, and that's just how it worked. They lived to confuse guys and that was their main purpose on earth. "What class do we have next?" Gabrielle's voice came crashing into his thoughts. He blinked, realising that he'd barely written anything. "Umm..." He looked up at her. "Charms, I think. With Flitwick." He added pointlessly, babbling on about Charms whilst mentally hitting himself on the head. Of course it was with Flitwick; Gabby would know that! Charms was always with Flitwick! Fool. He berated himself coldly. Just shut up. Stop talking. She doesn't really care about what the lesson might be on. He felt detached from himself, his mind telling himself to stop talking, but his mouth babbling on about reviewing various banishing charms. Okay, he thought, we're going to shut up... now! To his relief, his mouth shut and he stopped talking.

Another student entered the classroom, one that Severus recognized as one of his Prefects, Blaise Zabini. He ignored the student's tardiness, returning Zabini's acknowledging nod but otherwise giving him little notice. A small explosion rocked the classroom and Severus swooped down on the culprits. "Potter! What did you do?!" He sneered, looking at the mess that was the Gryffindor boy's potion. "You'd better fix this slop up if you want anything above a T." Severus gave him another sneer for good measure, then turned on his heel, his cloak whipping around as he stalked back up the aisle between the desks and cauldrons, peering into cauldrons randomly, praising some students and demanding why other students weren't further ahead. Another one of his students, Tyger Evans, dashed into the classroom, followed not long after by a Hufflepuff student. "Twenty-five points from Hufflepuff for your tardiness, Miss O'Riley." He announced, barely glancing at the girl. "The class is nearly over, so there is no point in you beginning the potion, but I will expect a report two rolls long on tardiness and punctuality and how society benefits from it on my desk tomorrow morning." To his shock, a Ravenclaw slipped in the back of the classroom too. "Miss Watson, I had expected better from a Ravenclaw." He raised an eyebrow at her. "You shall also lose twenty-five points from your house, and I will expect a two roll report on my desk tomorrow morning. See Miss O'Riley about the details of this report." He shook his head, a small sneer on his face. He turned his back on the students, moving back to his desk, where he seated himself with a flourish of his robes. Another Slytherin student slipped into the classroom. "Why are all these students so late today?" Severus demanded, furious. "I'm most disappointed in you. Ten points from Slytherin." He shook his head, annoyed. "The class is nearly over. Students who have finished their potions, bring them up to my desk for grading. Homework for the next lesson is a one roll report on the appropriate use of the Pepper-Up Potion, and its variations. Class dismissed." He folded his arms and waited for the students to leave.

Lily watched as the other students entered the classroom. Once Professor Snape had given the instruction she labelled her potion and took it up to the front of the classroom placing it on the Professor's desk. She then returned to her seat to finish cleaning up and packing away her equiptment. Finally she slung her bag over one shoulder and exited the classroom, checking that she had not left anything behind, at a semi-rapid pace.

Once Professor Snape gave the instruction Tyger packed her stuff into her bag and slung it over her shoulder heading for the door. She was sad that the lesson was over because it was one of her favourites. She stared at her brother with dislike, he had lost 10 points for Slytherin although she was partly to blame turning up late If only that wretched Owl hadn't arrived from my father then I wouldn't have been she had a scowl on her face as she left the room as a rather snail like pace compared to the speed she normally walked at.

Please note, students, that you will be expected to complete the homework assigned in this lesson. You must complete Professor Snape's task in approximately 200 words. Those students who complete the homework and PM it to Snape will recieve ten housepoints to their house! Those who do not hand in homework will lose housepoints.
This class will be moved to the Archives, located in the library, by the 25th. A new Potions class will commence shortly after. That is all
