Hermione's head darted up from the pink mist hovering over her potion as somebody barged through the heavy door of the potion's classroom. UGH! Harry! she thought to herself as he grumbled an apology to the teacher. ... 20 points! ... harry took a set by Hermione. She glared at him with a look that said, "You were already late to Transgiguration and now this!" 40 points! 40! "Hello." She said finally, adding a handful of pickled toad livers to her cauldron and reeling at the smell it caused. She frantically checked her text bood and relaxed a little as she noticed this was supposed to happen. "What is it this time?" She said turning to face her friend again, "Another troll in the girls' bathroom?" herm expression soften as she noticed Harry seemed to be looking a bit guilty.

"It's not funny," Harry retorted with a tone of guilt, as he ignored the potent odor radiating off of Hermione's cauldron. "I'm just having an off day," He calmly attempted to justify himself, his expression softening a bit. The thought of detention with Snape caused a light glare to overcome his expression, his eyebrows narrowed with hatred for the Potions master who tried so much to make his life miserable. "Will you help me with this?" Harry whispered extremely quietly, making sure Hermione and only Hermione was able to hear it. He had only looked up once at the board, but that was all it took to be extremely intimidated.
He lit the fire beneath his cauldron, glancing over at Hermione a few times as if to request admonition. His thoughts ran mostly on trying to figure out the potion before the end of class, but the back of his mind was poisoned with foul images of Snape and his power-driven sneers. "The only people who need to learn this rubbish are people set out to have Snape's job," Harry then commented to Hermione, realizing the comments would have probably flown better with Ron. The words had already escaped his lips, however, and he stuck to them like spell-o-tape.

((excellent post!))
Hermione was apologetic as Harry asked her to help him with his potion so she agreed to help him, but, "Only of you promise not to loose Gryffindor too many more housepoints this year!" She took his bowgium root and begen to slice it finely before measureing fifty grams and throwing it into his already bubbling cauldron along with a three teasthingys of bubotober pus. Harry made a comment about postions and suddenly went quiet. Hermione glared at him. She herself valued potions extreemely highly in the wizarding world, dispite the fact that she didn't like the potions master. "Harry, there are times when one cannot say anything to better a situation and this is one of those times." She threw five ounces of sizzlefig leaves into the mix a little too enthusiasticly and she hastily grabbed her wand and performed an enchantment to prevent the portion from splashing up at her.
"You'll have to add your's too." She stared pointedly at Harry's pile of leaves on the table. She checked her book and smiled. she had nothing left to do! Her postion was the correct colour and consistency. She ladled some of the potion into a large beaker with a lid and threw her hand into the air above her to attract Professor Snapes attention.

Blaise sauntered into the classroom, gave Professor Snape an acknowledging nod, and pulled up the stool next to Gabrielle. "What are we doing?" He asked, his head buried in his bag as he rummaged around for his supplies. He pulled his head out of the bag, his arm still buried up to his shoulder in the bottom-less bag. He stuck his tongue out between his teeth and rolled his eyes up to the roof, fumbling through the dragonskin bag. That stain looks like a person. He thought, his eyes still focused on the ceiling while he concentrating on finding his stuff. Must have been one of those potions made by that Gryffindor kid... somethingbottom... He gave up on finding his things in the bag, and began pulling objects out one by one to find his supplies. He pulled out his broomstick, Transfiguration textbook, a sealed tube of what appeared to be Bubotuber Pus, half a block of Honeydukes Finest and three empty bottles of ink before he finally pulled out a blank, if somewhat crumpled, piece of parchment and a quill that looked rather like it had been sat on by a dragon with slightly burnt edges. "Gabby, mind if I borrow your ink?" He murmured, sticking his head back into the bag.

Lily finished the last line of her potion and checked her book making sure she had done everything exactly right. She filled her beaker with her potion and raised her hand still reading her book carefully, everything was correct so she closed the book and looked around wondering if Snape had seen her. She noticed another Slytherin enter the classroom "Bet he wont loose any points for being late" she mumbled under her breath.

((Thank you, Hermione))
Harry watched with a forced interest, trying to show Hermione he was actually focusing on what they were supposed to be doing. Evidently, Harry had learned how to go about asking Hermione for help, and he certainly appreciated it. As she began to measure and slice the roots, Harry threw the back of Snape's head an ill-tempered expression. He wanted to cause Snape grief for once in his life. Even as Hermione spoke to him, the words seemed to fumble in through one ear and fall out through the other, never really being processed in the end. He glanced up at the clock's glaring face, realizing he only had so much time before the lesson was over. That was at least one particular thing he looked forward to.
BOOM! Harry's attention snapped back in a heart beat as some of his potion flew toward Hermione. Using her limited time to her own ability, Harry found himself impressed once more by Hermione. She finally instructed him to add the leaves, and he nodded in collaboration. Quickly, he cupped the leaves and began to toss them into the cauldron in an uncaring manner. "Tell me that's it," Harry basically asked Hermione with desperation, his hopes for the day having been shot down by the beginning of Potions.

A Bang filled the classroom and Lily placed her hand down and looked over towards the desk were Harry was sitting all she could do was silently laugh. Her eyes then darted back to the front of the classroom to see is Snape had looked. She figured that Snape wasn'tgoing to pay any attention to her so she began copying the Pepper-up Potion out at least then she would have something to do and would also have a copy of the potion if she needed it later.

Rose was too busy singing to herself that she barely noticed the loud bang that emanated through the dungeons. She looked up and shook her head. "No attention span, those Gryffindors," she muttered whilst tearing apart plant roots and throwing them into her potion. It was bubbling furiously and giving off a foul smell. Rose knew that this meant it was working. She added the remaining ingredients, chopping, slicing and measuring with care, and scooped up some of her potion and emptied into a small bottle for the professor to examine. She sighed to herself, as she continued to sing, and, without realising, began to twist a lock of her blonde hair.

Hermione noticed two girls in the corner of her eye. They were staring in the derection of her and Harry's desk. Hermione shot them each a heated look before turning to Harry, "Your potion had just better be better than theirs." She indicated towards the girls with her head, an expression of fury on her face. She muttered a few words and pointed her wand at one of the girls, rose watching as the girl's cauldron began to bubble over and splash onto the table. After a minute or so she muttered the counter-curse to stop the bubbling. She looked in Professor Snape's direction. He seemed to be ignoring her. She would stop that, "Excuse me, Professor. I finishedthe Perpper-Up potion." Her voice dripped with honey. There was no way he could deduct housepoints from her.

"I'm trying," Harry simply answered Hermione with his undying expression of stress. He then watched as Hermione turned back to a few girls sitting near the back, raising his eyebrow. As the light liquid began to bubble uncontrollably and overflow, his green orbs widened with surprise, quickly jolting back around as to not be suspected. Never having noted Hermione as someone who sabotaged, a smirk had actually broken through his stone-cold expression. "Remind me not to make you angry ever again," Harry joked, stirring the potion before bottling it with a look in his orbs of true hate. He nearly broke the occupied vial as he slammed it down on the desk, leaning back in his chair and folding his arms.
"Detention...alone...Snape..." Harry's thoughts continued solely on these three words, looking over at Hermione with an urge to rant about how much he hated Snape some more. Stifling it, he locked his eyes on the vial and it's swirling, bright potion.

Rose watched as a fellow Slytherin hurried to enter the room. Her seat was almost right next to hers, so she leaned over and said, "Don't worry, he never takes points off us Slytherins."

"Good" she said "mind if I sit here?" she said moving into the seat near Rose "I'm Tyger " she said as she noticed her cousin Lily sitting with her hand raised and copying "filthy half-blood" she mumbled "how could I be related to such, such filth?" she said to no-one in particular.
